Food Bank Deliveries and CANAVUA's COVID-19 Response

COVID-19 has created unprecedented challenges for non-profit organizations in Edmonton. CANAVUA is delighted to continue our weekly food bank through home deliveries.

Volunteers meet at Edmonton's Food Bank every Wednesday morning and deliver hampers throughout the city in the afternoon. We ring families before arriving at their homes and leave their deliveries at the front door. That way, our volunteers avoid unnecessary physical contact and respect all social distancing guidelines.

If you live in Edmonton and wish to receive hamper deliveries, please get in touch with us at info@canavua.org. We'll need your complete address (including your postal code), as well as a phone number at which to reach you. Once registered, you'll also be able to receive hampers in person at our premises in Bonnie Doon (128, 8627 91st Street NW) after the pandemic is over (hopefully soon!).

If you've already received hampers from us before and wish to receive a home delivery, simply email your request to Edmonton's Food Bank (as before) and include your complete address and phone number in your message. Please also send a copy of your message to us (info@canavua.org).

In particular, we'd like to thank our volunteers - Serge, Michel and Jean Paul - who helped with our first round of deliveries on Wednesday, May 6th. They delivered hampers all across the city (downtown, the west end, Mill Woods, etc.). You can see some pictures of them delivering hampers below.

CANAVUA's volunteers did a great job delivering hampers across the city to our clients' homes.

Our volunteers are sure to respect all social distancing guidelines and wear appropriate personal protection equipment.

CANAVUA offers a safe, timely and sanitary service to its clientele during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We're always looking for volunteers to help with deliveries! If this interests you, please email us at info@canavua.org. We'll send you a yellow t-shirt with our logo (seen in the pictures above) for you to wear while making deliveries. Volunteers meet at Edmonton's Food Bank at 11:00 on Wednesday morning and make delivery runs throughout the afternoon. The main warehouse's address is:

Edmonton's Food Bank
11508-120th Street NW
Edmonton, AB T5G 2Y2

(It's very close to Kingsway Garden Mall and NAIT).

We also invite you to check out the video at the top of the page. It will give you a good idea of how CANAVUA's volunteers practise social distancing while making deliveries.

CANAVUA is very pleased to continue helping families and individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Food security is a very important challenge during these times, but CANAVUA is on the front line to serve those in need.
